Unquiet Home

This is the first song I wrote after The Hiatus, that stretch with college, etc, during which time I mostly 'wrote' music (and, in fact, recorded none) and generally did a lot of other things. I had just gotten my first 4-track, a Clarion, and before long this great strummy progression comes out, and words follow right behind.

The concept of the song is great. It is a story about an older brother who had numerous issues with society and its rules, sung from the perspective of the sibling who is ten years his junior. The subject of the song gets killed in the end but there is a sense that he sort of, well... deserved it.

This is one of the songs where absolutely every element seemed to go perfectly. Each 'track' or instrument was done perfectly, the recording itself went well, everything mixed seamlessly and Erik was positively inspired with the digital mastering and post-production he turned out.
